Copyright and takedowns

- DJs choose what they play, and are responsible for having the right to play it.

How music gets onto Back2Back
Back2Back does not supply, choose or sell any music. DJs play music from their own collections, live, from their own equipment. A public session is streamed to whoever opens its page while it is happening; it is not kept on the website afterwards and cannot be played back there. Every session is recorded for the two DJs who played it, and for nobody else. It is deleted 24 hours after it is made, and cannot be recovered.
Every DJ agrees, in our terms, that they have the rights and licences they need for everything they play, and that Back2Back gives them none.
If you own the rights in something played here
Write to help@back2back.music with “Copyright” in the subject, and tell us:
- who you are, and how to reach you; and, if you are acting for the owner, who that is;
- the work or works concerned, clearly enough for us to identify them;
- where on Back2Back it was used: the address of the session, the DJ’s name or handle, and the date and time as nearly as you can;
- a statement that you believe, in good faith, that the use was not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that what you have told us is accurate and that you are the owner or entitled to act for them;
- your name, typed, as a signature.
What we do
We read every notice and act on a valid one promptly. Depending on what it is, that means ending a session that is in progress, deleting a recording, removing a session’s listing, or restricting or closing the DJ’s account. We normally tell the DJ what was reported and by whom, unless you ask us not to pass on your contact details. An account that is the subject of repeated valid notices is closed.
If you are the DJ
If something of yours was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you had the right to use it, reply to the message we sent you and explain why, with whatever supports it (a licence, the owner’s permission). We will look at it again, and may pass your reply to the person who complained.
Deliberately sending a false notice, or a false reply, may make you liable for the harm it causes.
Collecting societies and rights organisations
If you represent a society or a label and want to talk about licensing, reporting or anything broader than one notice, use the same address. We would rather have that conversation than not.
Back2Back’s own name and design
The Back2Back name, wordmark and software belong to their owner. Ask before you use the wordmark for anything other than linking to Back2Back or saying that you play on it.
