BACK2BACK

Terms of use

Last updated 19 September 2026

The short version

1. Who this is between

Back2Back is a desktop app for DJs and a website where people listen. These terms are between you and Jake Gregory (“we”, “us”), who runs this Back2Back server. By creating an account, downloading the app, playing in a session or commenting on one, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Back2Back.

2. Your account

3. The app

You may install the Back2Back app and use it for your own DJing for as long as these terms apply to you. It is beta software. It will change, and a version may stop working with the service until you update it.

Back2Back is © 2026 Jake Gregory. All rights reserved. That covers the app, this website, the service behind them and the name — whoever runs the server you are using. You are given permission to use it, and nothing more: don’t sell it, rent it out, copy it, take it apart to rebuild it, or pass it off as your own. The open-source components it is built with keep their own licences, which are listed under Acknowledgements.

4. Your equipment

Back2Back is unofficial. It works with PRO DJ LINK equipment by speaking to it over your own network. It is not made, endorsed, tested or supported by AlphaTheta Corporation or Pioneer DJ, and they cannot help you with it. A firmware update to your players or mixer may stop it working.

While you are in a session the app sends commands to your players: it loads tracks onto them, and it changes settings such as sync, tempo master and key lock. You use it with your equipment at your own risk. Keep backups of your music, and have another way to play at any gig that matters.

5. Music, and the rights in it

This is the part that matters most.

If you own the rights in something played on Back2Back and object to it, see Copyright and takedowns.

6. What you post

Your name, handle, picture, session names and comments are yours. You give us permission to store and show them as far as running Back2Back requires, for as long as they are on it. Session names, your name and handle, your public page and your comments can be seen by anybody.

Don’t post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening or sexually explicit; anything that gives away somebody else’s private information; spam; or anything that pretends to come from somebody else. The DJs of a session can remove comments from it and block people from commenting in it. We can remove anything, and suspend or close any account, that breaks these terms or the law, or puts Back2Back or the people using it at risk.

7. Telling us about a problem

To report content, a DJ or a listener, or anything else that worries you, contact help@back2back.music. For a copyright complaint, see Copyright and takedowns.

8. Emails

We email you a code to confirm your address, and about your account when we need to. If you follow a DJ we email you when they go live, when they schedule a session, shortly before it, and if it is cancelled; unfollow them and those stop. We do not send advertising.

9. The service may change or stop

Back2Back is in beta and is run without any promise that it will be available, fast, or free of faults. We may change it, limit it, or shut it down. We are not a backup: download the recordings you want to keep. It is deleted 24 hours after it is made, and cannot be recovered.

10. Our responsibility to you

Back2Back is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it, and we are not responsible for: a set that drops out, stops or sounds wrong; a lost booking, fee, income or audience; damage to or loss of your music, data or equipment; what other people play, say or do on Back2Back; or anything we could not reasonably have foreseen.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer you have legal rights that these terms do not take away.

11. Ending it

You can stop using Back2Back at any time, and ask us to delete your account by contacting help@back2back.music. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms. Sections 5, 6 and 10 carry on applying to what happened while you used it.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. If a change matters, we will tell you on the website or by email before it applies. Carrying on using Back2Back after that means you accept it.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living somewhere else, you keep any protection the law of your own country gives you, and you can bring a claim in your own courts.
